In-Line End-Finishing Transfer from Rolling Mill

Right after your reducing mill, your elements still need centering, plug extraction, and pin cutting before they can move on to the next stage. If that means pulling parts off the line and running them through a separate station, you’re adding a break in your process that doesn’t need to be there. This transfer machine sits directly downstream of the mill and handles that end prep in line, automatically.

You get centering, plug extraction, and terminal pin cutting on every element, with no manual handling and no interruption to your production flow.

In-Line End-Finishing Transfer from Rolling Mill

Advantages

The concrete advantages that make the difference

Built into your line, not bolted on after it

You don’t have to route parts to a separate station and back. This machine installs directly downstream of your reducing mill, picking up each element as it comes off and finishing the ends before it moves on, so your process stays continuous from reduction straight through to end preparation.

End prep that holds the same tolerance, part after part

Centering, plug extraction, and pin cutting all affect how well your element performs in the next production step. Automated, high-precision handling means every element meets the same dimensional spec, so you’re not troubleshooting inconsistent ends further down the line.

Less manual handling, more throughput

Every part your operators don’t have to touch is time back in your production day. This machine automates the full sequence and unloads finished elements on its own, sorting out any non-conforming parts as it goes, so your team can focus on running the line instead of moving parts between stations.

Details

Your element comes straight off the reducing mill and into this transfer machine, no intermediate handling required. From there, three synchronized stations prepare the end before the part is unloaded.

First, the element is centered and aligned, so everything downstream lines up accurately. Next, the machine removes the plastic plug used during filling and rolling. For threaded pins or plugs with a tight interference fit, where a plug would otherwise be difficult to pull, the station applies pre-heating to ease extraction without damaging the part. Finally, the terminal pin is cropped to the length your process requires.

Once finishing is complete, the machine unloads the part automatically into the collection container, and any part that doesn’t meet spec is sorted out separately, so what reaches your next station is already checked and ready.

You don’t add a station to your line. You extend it.
